Meet Mackenzie Murphy
My Name is Mackenzie Murphy and I am running for NH State Representative to represent the town of Merrimack in Concord! I am really excited to pursue this endeavor and I hope to earn your support over these next few months!
I am a 23 year old, Merrimack, NH native. I attended Merrimack Public Schools and obtained both my Associates Degree in Teacher Education and a para-educator II Certificate from Nashua Community College. I then transferred to Granite State College and earned dual Bachelor's Degrees in both Business Management and Psychology. I am now pursing my Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration and currently serve on the Merrimack School District Budget Committee.
As a young adult, I have seen a need for positive change. During the last four years, we have faced a global political upheaval. We are living in a nation where we see young people discouraged by the division in politics and are turning away from becoming involved. Now more than ever, it is critical that we bring fresh ideas and innovation to politics that are sorely needed. I think that someone coming from a truly local, community grassroots background as I have, but who has also connected our need for local and statewide activism with broader, intergenerational, national demand for change, occupies a unique position that will carry us into the future we fight for and deserve.
The 2020 November election will be a defining moment in the history of our state and our country.
We need to continue to advocate for equal education funding reform, environmental justice, gun violence prevention, and social and racial justice equity. I want to work toward creating a future where all Granite Stater's have equal access to affordable healthcare, education, and economic outcomes regardless of where they were born, what they look like, or whom they choose to love.
